Introduction
Aluprof UK is one of the European suppliers of architectural aluminium building systems for both commercial and residential building construction. The company’s product portfolio includes windows, doors, unitised and stick curtain walling systems, facades, rolling shutters, garage doors, framing systems and entrance doors. Aluprof’s UK technical team provides solutions of aluminium systems to the UK and Ireland’s architecture, engineering, and construction industry since 2006. Aluprof UK is a subsidiary of Aluprof SA and a part of the Grupa Kety Group.
The group is a producer of architectural aluminium systems in Europe with over 70 years of experience. With over 2,300 employees in many subsidiaries in European countries and in the USA, the group's annual turnover exceeds €500 million. Aluprof SA is one of the leading providers of architectural aluminium systems that develops and manufactures advanced systems and products from its plants in Poland with a combined floor space of over 220,000 m². The group serve over 1,300 regular clients worldwide where 40% of total production is exported annually.
The company implements the ISO 9001-2001 quality management system and holds a QUALICOAT licence for powder coating profiles. With head offices and showrooms in Manchester and London, Aluprof UK supports architects and specifiers across the British Isles, helping them realise facade designs across a wide range of project types including student accommodation, hotels, office buildings, residential buildings, educational and leisure facilities.
Product ranges
Aluprof UK has a variety of products for both commercial and residential uses including the Passivhaus certified products to meet energy-saving requirements, Certifire rated fire resistant door, window, or partition wall products to meet the fire-safety standards and stick or unitised curtain walling systems that can meet any custom façade design requirements. The company’s MB-Slimline product range is also preferred in many heritage projects in the UK and Ireland that can meet the challenging planning requirements whilst meeting the specifiers’ design, security, and energy requirements.
Aluprof UK not only provides solutions to architects or commercial uses but also supplies consumer range of products for the homeowners including sliding and folding doors that are widely used in the UK market besides garage door systems, external venetian blinds and rolling shutters, secure entry doors, insect screens and solar shading systems.
Innovation and research
The company has its own research, development and testing facility that includes the largest test chamber for windows, doors, curtain walls and exterior roller shutters in central and eastern Europe where water & wind load resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation, airtightness, and security tests are conducted on its systems and products.
Aluprof SA is the first company to use the innovative Aerogel in its Passive range products including MB-104 and MB-86 to maintain exceptionally low U-Values for increased thermal insulation.
Furthermore, Aluprof UK has the widest range of fire-rated products and systems to meet the rigorous standards of the UK market.
Many of Aluprof products and systems are certified by Secured by Design, Passivhaus Institute, Cradle2Cradle, PAS 24, BS4873 and Certifire.
Working with specifiers and fabricators
Aluprof UK works with architects and specifiers with their assigned individual project managers to provide the most appropriate solution for projects through each stage of the RIBA Plan of Work.
Aluprof UK also maintains a close and direct relationship with its accredited fabricators in the UK and Ireland to meet the demands of the specifiers with high-quality manufacturing and installation processes.
Logistics
Aluprof UK has implemented a logistics system based on just-in-time principles to meet the continuous demand of its clients in the UK and Ireland. The closely monitored manufacturing and shipment process give Aluprof UK a just-in-time logistics capability without the need to maintain a central warehouse in the British Isles. Operating without a central warehouse helps the company reduce its carbon footprint by eliminating excessive transportation between the manufacturing plant to the warehouse and then to the construction site.
Environmental policy
In 2021 April, Aluprof made a statement to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and to have reduced its carbon footprint by 15% by 2025.
Environmental and social objectives stand out amidst the company’s many commitments, which include obtaining further Cradle to Cradle™ certifications and the ongoing improvement of the company’s manufacturing processes under the ISO 14001 environmental management system. Aluprof has also updated the detailed analysis of their products’ carbon footprint and presented its commitments in terms of sustainable development.
One key to this goal is the company’s use of low-carbon aluminium. Aluprof’s modern extrusion plant in Kty, Poland uses low-carbon billets which equate to just 2.79 tCO2e. In comparison, the production of one ton of primary aluminium in most parts of the world has an average emission of 16.7 tCO2e, almost six times higher than of Aluprof. The company achieved the low level of carbon emissions with the use of up to 65% of recycled aluminium content in low-carbon aluminium billets.
To meet its long-term strategy, Aluprof SA renewed its corporate branding with a new logo and brand look in April 2021. Aluprof UK became a Passivhaus UK Trust patron member in May 2021.
